Free Leeland, New Audi and Cockroach Update

Audir8
I should come up with a consistent label for these posts where I just unload the random stuff that’s cluttering my brain. Until I come up with that label, here is the random stuff that’s cluttering my brain:

  • Thanks to the heads up from Corey, I’ve been listening to the new Leeland album here. Get free access to the full album until it’s released on February 26.
  • For anyone that has connections at Audi, I’d love to test drive the new R8. I’m willing to travel to you to make it happen.
  • The list of bloggers attending Unleash 2008 continues to grow.
  • I was speaking in Phoenix on Wednesday morning. By Wednesday night I was at home with my family. That’s amazing to me. We are a very mobile society.
  • "When they look at my life do they see someone who believes and lives out God’s promises or someone who is paralyzed by fear?" Thought this was a powerful post from Sydney.
  • I enjoyed hanging out with Tim for a little bit this week. He didn’t buy my lunch…but I still hugged him.
  • I’ve completed 2/3 of the manuscript for my new book, Killing Cockroaches. Yesterday Seth and Guy agreed to include their thoughts in the book. That made me happy.
  • Speaking of Guy, if you’re a small business leader, you should check out smallbusiness.alltop.com.
  • I share some thoughts here that I don’t share on my blog.

If only I knew! If a trip to Durban, South Africa is included under, “I’m willing to travel to you to make it happen”, then we have one here at Audi Centre Durban. We’ve had it since Tuesday last week and have been taking clients for half hour rides and it’s been a blast. A nice ‘spin off’ is that some customers have rocked up with there classics so it’s been a case of, “you can play with mne if I can play with yours”. So far I’ve managed to play with: A 13 year old Carrera RS with slicks and a ’83 308 Ferrari but I digress.

The R8 we have is a silver with grey blades (Carbon really looks better) and black Leather with the S-Tronic box connected to the big ‘V’ at the back . I must say it’s a pleasure to drive, both in traffic and on the open road. The FSi induced power delivery is similar to a turbo’d motor in that the Free Rev’ing V8 lets the horses loose in stages, if that makes sense. Get those valves working in the higher rev range and your knuckles start loosing their colour until white!
The biggest negative for a man in this car is that you need to stay seated for a few minutes after coming to a stop. Climbing out this Machine immediatley after switch off could result in some imbarrasing glances, especially from the opposite sex as they just don’t understand!

Got one in Kalamazoo, MI at my Dad’s showroom, but its already paid for. You had to put down $10,000 just to get on the waiting list (that didn’t guarantee you got one).
