I’m blogging from the balcony at C3 this morning. Tommy Barnett from Phoenix First opened the day with a message encourage pastors not to quit ministry. Here are some of the highlights of his message…

  • "Nothing has changed our church like Jesus and FellowshipOne."
  • Tommy is telling people to buy his books and CDs.
  • "When I think of quitting, I think of becoming a cab driver."
  • "I have wanted to quit, and so have you."
  • "There’s honor in wanting to quit."
  • "Wanting to quit is a sign of success."
  • "The more you have to quit the more you want to quit."
  • "You can enjoy the luxury of wanting to quit if you know you’re not going to quit."
  • "If you have quality, you’ll have quantity."
  • It’s the call of God that drives you.
  • Sometimes it takes two cups of coffee to get me going on Monday morning. "Starbucks has kept me in the ministry."
  • Do you ever feeling like leaving your wife. "No, but sometimes I feel like killing her."
  • "You have to burn the bridges behind you."
  • Decide whats important and commit the rest of your life to it.
  • Don’t tell anyone you want to quit, because they may take you up on it.
  • I hope I’m as vibrant as Tommy when I’m in my 70s. (I don’t know if I’m as vibrant as Tommy in my 30s.)
  • In the last 5 five years, 19 people have given me a $1 million or more to further the work of God’s Kingdom.
  • Lots of Dream Center stories were shared.
  • Don’t quit.
