Pastor Ringtones

Pastorringtone_2
Earlier today, I noticed that someone was advertising "Pastor Ringtones" through Google Ads on my site.  I’m familiar with the concept of ringtones for cell phones. My favorite ringtone is still Brick House by The Commodores.  Whenever I hear that, I know my wife is calling.

I wasn’t familiar, however, with "pastor ringtones." Who would have guessed there’s a market for ringtones specifically targeted to pastors? But, then I realized, we’ve successfully created a Christian subculture that includes everything from television to movies to books to magazines to music to education to breath mints and more. It certainly stands to reason that we should also expect to have pastor ringtones.

With that in mind, I set out to discover the top ten ringtones for pastors. Though all of these songs are available in iTunes, I’m not sure if you’ll find them in ringtone format. For $9.99 per month, I guess you could potentially confirm whether or not that’s the case. Until then here are what I would guess to be the…

Top 10 Pastor Ringtones

  1. The B-I-B-L-E — The St. John’s Children’s Choir
  2. Papa Don’t Preach — Madonna
  3. Jesus, Take the Wheel — Carrie Underwood
  4. Amazing Grace — Elvis Presley
  5. Pray — MC Hammer
  6. The Ultimate Sin — Ozzy Osbourne
  7. Practice What You Preach — Barry White
  8. Thank You — Ray Boltz
  9. El Pastor — Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan
  10. Friends are Friends Forever — the VeggieTales version

What do you think? Are there any pastor ringtones that I’m missing?

How about “Pass it On” for all those who got their pastoral starts in camping ministry (uh, in the 70′s . . . I’m getting way too old). It only takes a spark . . . (you know you’re singing it in your head – sorry)

I submit that T-Mo hold a challenge where people send in their own ‘pastor ring tones.’ Then we will have some ROCKIN’ ring tones to load on our phone and not just these ‘interesting’ selections… :)

    What do you say T-Mo?

    Tony,
I know I am a day late, but hopefully not a dollar short. You stated:

“…we’ve successfully created a Christian subculture that includes everything from television to movies to books to magazines to music to education to breath mints and more.”

Do you think this is a good or bad thing that we have created a subculture? Do you think this causes Christians to focus on supporting Christian things rather than being out in the world? Just a question.

Bad thing…very bad thing. That’s my opinion.

True story Tony. I did a funeral recently and while I was talking with the funeral home director his phone started ringing. His ring tone was a midi version of “When The Saint Go Marching In”. Dude?

    Tony-

Have you visited http://www.myxertones.com? You can upload your own MP3′s and they will convert and send them to you phone as ring tones, for free. It will convert photos to backgrounds, etc. Maybe cheaper than 9.99/month….just a thought!
