Mars Hill Opens New Campus in Former Night Club
Mars Hill Church opened their sixth campus in a former night club in downtown Seattle this past weekend.
"The new interior eschews traditional stained-glass windows and
crosses for a mod-style orange-and-gray color scheme, with lime-green
chairs and a downstairs espresso machine. The remaining go-go dancer’s cage has been converted into a coat hanger. The condom dispenser is now a diaper-changing station."

I went to their service on Sunday, since their new campus is one block from my school.
Honestly I had a very difficult time there. It felt like they were trying to hard to sell it to me, with cameras flashing and rock stars playing music. Then the pastor told me from the stage that “Religion sucks”, which made me almost get up and leave.
If they came into Belltown, where their church is located, with the idea of trying to point out where Jesus already is in downtown Seattle, then I could get behind it. But when I’m told that they are there to bring Jesus, to be a light in a very, very dark place, it becomes quite difficult for me to hear what they are saying. Since I go to school in Belltown and live very near it, it doesn’t sit well to hear that Jesus wasn’t there until Mars Hill Church came to town.
now those were some haunting memories of days gone by! Praise God for new beginnings… for people and buildings alike!
