<description>No, the difference is that instead of worshiping the methods, we're helping people worship Jesus.

<description>Got it. So the ends always justify the means as long as it packs people in the seats.

<description>This is extremely sad for a church to do this on such a day as Easter, though posting my comment is well past then.

The church could have utilized its resource of its people, to train 500 members of the congregation to witness effectively and biblically, with each person handing out 200 gospel tracts. Had this been done and accompanied with much prayer and fasting beforehand, I think there would have been a greater response and a much wiser use of funds than the offensive postcards that were mailed.

Such a marketing campaign is no different than what Wal-Mart wants to accomplish and that is increasing its revenues by adding more customers through marketing and advertising. This is not what a church should be striving to become like.

It should be striving to become like a first century church where the power of the Word of God will save a person's soul and bring about within them a passion for lost souls around their lives.

In addition to that, if New Spring Church is focused on reaching unbelievers with the Gospel, &lt;b&gt;shouldn't everyone at New Spring be evangelizing the lost&lt;/b&gt;? Since Jesus said to go into the world and preach the Gospel and to make disciples, that responsibility belongs to everyone personally and not with a postcard.

<description>Andrew, we're not trying to win you over. In fact, you aren't the person we were trying to reach. You're already convinced. We're trying to reach people, specifically men in this case, who are focused on money, sex and power and not on Jesus Christ.

And, you might be interested in knowing that the postcards worked. We've had over 8,000 people at our services to hear the Gospel message each of these last five weeks. That's the first time that's happened in NewSpring history. In the process, we're hearing many dramatic stories of life change.

You can attack us or celebrate what God's doing in people's lives. That's your choice. But, just so you know, pleasing Christians is not our focus. Making disciples is our focus. And, although you may disagree with our methods, we're seeing God doing an amazing work in thousands of people's lives.

<description>You wouldn't know that this message was about the Resurrection from the postcard and I think therein lies one problem. Here are some others:

1. I really wouldn't want my 10 year old son getting the mail to find a postcard that appears to be advertising something less than a church service with "sex, money and power."

2. The decision to have the fishnet stockings "touchable" just adds to the crassness of the advertising.

3. I think that the death and resurrection of the Son of God is shocking enough that to add shock value using sex as advertising is unnecessary, indecent and sneaky.

4. As an unbeliever I would have seen right through the attempt to shock for the sake of being cool and relevant. As a believer I simply find it offensive.

If I had received this unsolicited in my mail box I would have asked immediately to be removed from your mailing list.

<description>Yea, Jennifer, if you would have actually watched the service before you attacked our ministry, you would have found that that's what the entire message was all about.

<description>Your decision to "preach" about sex, money and power on Easter Sunday is extremely saddening to me, as well as, embarassing. What about the true meaning of Easter?? What about Jesus and his death on the Cross? I am not one of those bible thumping Christians who stands on the street corner yelling that all people are going to hell, BUT Easter should be about proclaiming the Gospel of Christ!
