Get Your Strategy On
In case you missed the big news today, NewSpring is joining the efforts of LifeChurch.tv and many other churches across the country to focus on One Prayer. Perry shared his take earlier today. Before I share a few more details, check out Craig’s video below introducing the series.
We are honored to be partnering with LifeChurch.tv and the many other ministries that will be involved in this historic moment for the Church. The One Prayer series will launch on June 7-8. Each church that participates will have the opportunity to use video teaching submitted by churches throughout the country. NewSpring and LifeChurch.tv, as an examples, will be using these teachers:
The purpose of this series is to, among other things, promote unity in the body of Christ, expose our churches to other great teachers and ministries, raise money for a mission project and participate in the larger work of God in His church.
To my knowledge, nothing like this has ever been attempted before in the local church. I’m grateful for Craig’s leadership in offering this opportunity. I’m grateful for all the resources LifeChurch.tv is providing for free to equip all the participating churches. I’m most grateful for Jesus who modeled unity for us. We still have a lot to learn, but I think One Prayer may help us all take a step toward the vision Jesus gave us–the unity of believers.

Tony…PHENOMENAL IDEA…I love this…but is there ANY CHANCE Craig, or the powers that be could push toward racial diversity among those primary communicators?
4 different churches and styles…but 4 white guys.
As a white guy myself I made assumptions that diversity would “just happen” when those of us under 40 moved into decision making decisions….after attending Catalyst, watching church led by those under 40 emerge, etc. It seems like we are content with creating homogeneous churches and keeping “10 o’clock on Sunday morning the most segregated hour in America” again for another generation…man that grieves me.

Wow!
I continually feel like I am sitting still while the church is blowing by me. This is an awesome idea! I love to see the church using all of the technology available to it to turn this world upside down for Christ!
I cannot wait to hear and see the impact of this!

Amazing!!! We at http://www.churchatthewell.org will be getting involved in this project as well. It’s an amazingly Kingdom minded opportunity to build a stronger network of relationships.

J, thanks for your comment. Here are some things to keep in mind:
> In the next week or so, any church who wants to participate can sign up.
> Your church can use whatever teachers and messages you’d like.
> This may be your “One Prayer”
> I think we may be amazed at how God uses this project to unite the Church. And, knowing Craig’s heart, I’m confident he shares your desire.
