Get Your Strategy On
I hope I didn’t throw the folks at Mitosis a curve ball. The topic they gave me to address was creating buzz. That led me to Mark 1 when Jesus healed the man with leprosy. He told others. It created buzz. Crowds began to follow Jesus. It caused quite a stir.
Slick marketing without substance leaves people empty.
Billboards and radio ads and direct mail without a compelling experience that effectively addresses the real issues of real lives leaves people disappointed.
We still need to communicate with today’s culture using the tools that grab attention and compel people to come in. But, when it comes to creating buzz, it all begins with life change.
Travis has some notes from my session this morning. Enjoy.

It was awesome! I think folks need to hear it’s not about slick marketing but rather telling the story of Jesus & the life change we all go through once we’re saved.

We try and live by the saying “Do not put it in the window if you don’t have it in the warehouse.” If we are going hype it up, it had better be awesome!!

you didn’t through a curve ball. Creating a buzz is just what you talked about. Your visual was perfect along with the Oprah comment.
