I’m hanging out at The Rock Church in Monroe, Washington near Seattle today. I delivered a session on creating buzz this morning and then shared a little bit about blogging. Right now, I’m listening to Jeff Knight, the senior pastor, wrap up Mitosis 2008.
- Jeff addressed the topic of "margin."
- Webster’s = "That little more allowed than what is needed."
- Jeremiah 29:11
- God’s not trying to burn me out. God’s plan is margin.
- John 10:10 — "have life to the full"
- "I want to spend the rest of my life evangelizing my world."
- "The enemy will always go after your margin."
- God will use margin as ministry.
- "As a race car driver, there’s a little button on my steering wheel that’s called ‘push-to-talk,’ and I use it all the time." That allows constant communication with the crew chief.
- Do what recharges your batteries. Allow God to create some space in your life.
- People die because they don’t have margin in their lives. Make room for margin.
- "God will turn your margin into your ministry."
- God wants to use every element of our lives.
- Pray a dangerous prayer: "God create margin in my life."
