Get Your Strategy On
I’m still unpacking all the boxes, but it feels good to be in the new place. With the help of friends, the site is completely redesigned. If you’re a subscriber and following me through email or a feed reader, you may be interested in stopping by and saying hello. No need to bring housewarming gifts.
There are still a few tweaks to make, but Scott and the Updatable.cc crew helped me move. I’m using WordPress for the first time. I guess it’s a week of major transitions in my e-world.
Welcome to the new digs. Make yourself at home.

I kind of liked the old one. This however must be how the old folks at our church feel as we contemplate remodeling the sanctuary.

Nice new look and I also love wordpress - if you are a Firefox user, you might be interested in Scribefire. It’s a plugin that allows you to post to your wordpress blog from a popup bar right in firefox. (http://www.scribefire.com/)

I think the old site was less fancy but much more reader friendly. new site looks fresher but it’s a harder look. each their own though. Personally I like more white space.

I’m with Rodge’s comment. I feel like I’ve landed at CNN or Fox News (remember the SNL skit where the host’s face was basically crowded out of the screen by all the runners and boxes?). I understand the need to generate revenue, but having two column next to the meat and potatoes of the blog - the content - is not visually appealing. Content is king, and the two right hand columns take away from the important stuff, the right hand column. Check out how Seth Godin has put together his blog - far more visually appealing (and I don’t mean the colors or fonts, I like your colors). If you are 100% committed to a 2 extra column system, check out how Tim Challies has done it challies.com and you’ll see what I would say is a far easier on the eyes/less obtrusive approach.

umm…yeah…that should say the important stuff is the LEFT hand column.
bad brain, bad brain!
