Un-Microsofted, Unpredictible, Unrespectable and More
This is long overdue. Here’s a bunch of random goodness that has been stacking up in Bloglines and Delicious in the last several weeks.
- Lee McFarland, one of my favorite friends has started blogging. The guy left Microsoft to plant a church. Great story!
- Greenville, SC landed in the Top 10 Best Places to Live in 2008 list. Just one more reason why you need to relocate to the area and join our team (…especially if you’re a motion graphics guru).
- Be unpredictable like Corey.
- “Resist the urge for respectability” and other wisdom from David.
- Darren shared 12 Traits of Successful Bloggers. He doesn’t know it, but he also listed the attributes of great leaders in today’s culture.
- Carlos generated an interesting conversation on women in church leadership.
- Odds are you’re scanning this post.
- I was going to wait for the Google phone, but I wasn’t expecting a $199 iPhone. What do you think I should do?
- I’m in line to alpha test the new Qik service on Windows Mobile…at least that was the initial response. Still waiting…
- Loved Shane’s list of lessons for new leaders.

The 3G iPhone looks to be awesome, but the $199 price is done with smoke & mirrors. AT&T is upping the pricing on service plans for iPhones.

Tony,
Got to get an iPhone. Everyone’s doing it.
-Chris
I’d listen to Chris… he turned me into a MacManiac!
Pull the trigger and get an iPhone.
If I understood correctly the extra $10 per month on the plan is due to the faster network, kind of like paying for a broadband connection which is obviously faster than dialup. But I would prefer to have that lower upfront cost compared to the 399 it used to be.
As much as I would love an iPhone I will stick with my Motorola Q for now. Staying a step behind current technology is a budget friendly place! :)
I checked out the interesting conversation on women in leadership.
I wish the planners of conferences would recognize that there ARE females out here leading our churches in various capacities. Please, put some women in leadership on the speaking panels. I would love to network with other female leaders in multi-site churches.
Thanks for letting me rant!
Wayne, my friend!…How are you? And, how is the MacMania going? I think Tony would love it!
The google phone sounds like it will be cool… I have an iphone… not the new one… and it IS cool… And the new ones are even better… Apple rocks and the IPhone is just going to get better and better… drink the cool aid Tony… its iphone time.
