NewSpring’s First Campus Outside of Anderson

You may not have known this, but NewSpring already has weekly services in a location outside of Anderson, South Carolina. Attendance is averaging around 70 per week. It’s kind of a unique situation, because anyone who wants to attend has to get permission to go.

Let me clarify. It’s literally a privilege for these 70 or so guys because this NewSpring “campus” is actually located at Century Correctional Institution in Century Florida. This is a maximum security prison where 75% of the inmates are serving a life sentence. The chaplain has been showing NewSpring sermons every Tuesday and just last month we received a letter from one of the prisoners that said six guys stood up and accepted Christ!

God is using NewSpring to reach people and change lives in ways we can’t even imagine. I love what I do and it is a huge honor that I get to be a part of something so much bigger than myself.

That is very cool. The same prison is doing One Prayer on Fridays. They are using our message and when I heard they were doing that in a prison, it blew me away.

Cool is the word! It is cool that so many churches see the the big picture! It is cool that churches like New Spring, Revolution, and Lifechurch.tv have such a huge heart for the men who often feel so forgotten.

When I started in prison ministy over 10 years ago I read one christain writer who said he believed the greatest revial ever may just start one day from behind the fences. (believe it or not there really are some godly men in prison.) It is and would be VERY cool IF God should to use churches like New Spring, Revolution and Lifechurch.tv to be that the vessle to bring that revival.

It’s not just the “big gun” churches that have prison ministry. In Florence, SC, Southside Baptist has small teams that go to two different facilities and have SS/Worship services. Very much to a point I’ve heard Perry preach on, that churches are called to ministering the gospel via different methods. Another point I love that he makes is the cheering that should happen for any church God is moving through as we are the church collectively!

Absolutely amazing! Any chance for any human being to meet Jesus is one that should be applauded!
