Perryisms
Here are some of the lines from Perry’s message last Sunday that caught my attention:
- “We’ve made knowing God’s will way too difficult.”
- “You will never know the will of God apart from the Word of God.”
- “He made us on purpose, and he has a plan for our lives.”
- “No one is praying ‘give me more to do.’ We’re too busy to know God’s plan for our lives.”
- “The reason why we don’t know God’s plan is that we have a casual relationship with him.”
- “God wants us to know his will more than we do.”
- “I’ve never seen anyone screw up their life trying to adopt the principles in God’s Word.”
- “God doesn’t want our lip. He wants our loyalty. He wants our obedience.”
- “God is saying: ‘I don’t want part of you. I want all of you, and then you will know my will.’”
- “When I listen to the Word of God and I walk in the ways of God, I will discover the will of God.”

“You will never know the will of God apart from the Word of God.”
What if someone is illiterate?
joey, that’s a good question. what do you think the answer is?
tony
Hey Tony this might be out of the blue, I’m from the other side of town, San Francisco CA but just want to say i love what you guys are doing in New Spring, never miss a podcast. But we have recently started a campus church, and was wondering what kind of help you can give a growing campus site?
Okay, maybe I’m a little less spiritual, but my favorite Perryism was: “The sandwich was so good that if I put the it on my head, my tongue would have beat my brains out to get to it.”
Thanks for sharing these. The first one really hit home with me. I think we as humans find it difficult something simple. We feel that unless it is difficult to understand, it’s not worth understanding. God plan is not all that hard to understand. It is involves a wooden cross and a savior who was will to be nailed to that cross for us.. Its’ all about love.
Tony,
The answer is the New Covenant. “I will write my law on your heart”.
Whenever we speak of God’s will, the New Covenant is crucial.
Sounds like a good message!
