Books to Fuel Creativity

My network of friends are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. Earlier today, someone was asking about jump-starting their creative process. I needed help recommending books that might be useful to encourage creativity and innovation. With that in mind, I asked my Twitter friends. Here are the responses I received:

@hardlynormal: A Technique for Producing Ideas; The Imagineering Way; The Creative Habit

@JeffPelletier: The Houdini Solution

@ctbamafan: Fish! A Remarkable Way to Boost Morale and Improve Results

@elliottmunoz: Making the Invisible Visible; Analog In, Digital Out

@jillharris: Unstoppable Force

@daviddavis: Orbiting the Giant Hairball; Get Back in the Box; Unstuck

@christianjava: Jump Start Your Brain

@JeffHenderson: Organizing Genius (I would second that!)

@JustinDean: Caffeine for the Creative Mind

@jasonsalamun: Thinkertoys; Brain Rules

What books would you add to the list? Organizing Genius is about leading creatives. Any more books for leaders who want to fuel creativity in their teams?

    How about a place that has tons of books!! I go to a book store get some coffee and look through books on wide range of topics and styles. You never know what might spark idea or creative thought. Bring your journal and write, draw, etc. I also go to the local library, but they are not so cool with the coffee. So my first choice in a good book store.

    I recommend two books by Roger von Oech, Ph.D.: A Whack On The Side Of The Head (How to unlock your mind for innovation), and A Kick In The Seat Of The Pants, (Using your explorer, Arthist, Judge, & Warrior to be more creative). The first by Warner Books, the second by Harper Perennial.
    And, of course, there’s my book which reflects the creative spirit in action – ABCs Of Ministry.
