chuck and 30 rock are pretty funny. greys anatomy isn’t funny at all in my opinion.

  3. Tyler October 1, 2008 at 9:19 am #

Big Bang Theory!!!! Gotta pick up the first season

Also, How I Met Your Mother is hilarious

    I’ll second 30 Rock. It’s hiLARious!

For a comedy, it’s Scrubs hands-down. I was pleasantly surprised by Grey’s Anatomy, but wouldn’t label it a comedy.

Watching your kids interact together will probably provide more entertainment than any of those shows. We occasionally watch Chuck and it is stupid funny. Other than that I haven’t found many funny shows lately…loving the Fringe though!

Chuch for sure. I’m not sure I would consider Grey’s Anatomy as a comedy…

Forgot to mention this one as it’s not a sitcom, but The Daily Show with John Stewart (when I catch it) is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

We don’t have teevee, but we watch Wipeout on ABC’s website. I’m usually – literally – exhausted from laughing at the end of one episode.

  10. Jonathan Beach October 1, 2008 at 9:57 am #

I would recommend Chuck and Psych, but Big Bang Theory is pretty funny too.

Get the DVD’s for Arrested Development and the British version of The Office. Brilliant writing.

I haven’t seen any of the listed tv shows. I’m still on Raymond and Seinfeld. I do watch Amazing Race with my wife and that can be funny.

I would vote for Chuck with all the geek, comic and fanboy references, and Psyche, for it’s whitty take on dective work meeting slacker lifestyle.

CHUCK!!!! great show, very funny-it is a must watch for me every Monday, How I Met Your Mother is always a laugh, and Big Bang Theory is great if you can get past the theme song. These are all Monday shows great way to recover from Sunday :-)

  15. stac October 1, 2008 at 10:44 am #

I’ll have to jump on the Chuck and Psych bandwagon.

  16. Tyler Z. October 1, 2008 at 11:06 am #

Psych, Psych, and more Psych! You won’t be disappointed…

My house likes Scrubs too .. but im kinda shocked that nobody mentioned Till Death .. That is one of our favs. I think cause thats kinda how my hubby and I figure our marriage will be when all the kids are gone LOL. But check it out Wed night at 9 on fox. i think tonight there are two new ones even!

  18. Jeremy October 1, 2008 at 11:47 am #

    Chuck!!!

  19. Malachi October 1, 2008 at 11:55 am #

Chuck and 30 Rock for sure. The first few seasons of Scrubs was really funny. And you most definitely cannot beat The Office.

  20. M@ October 1, 2008 at 12:05 pm #

30 Rock is either hilarious or not.
    Chuck is good.
I find LIFE is a good mix of comedy & drama – more drama than comedy.
The New Adventures of Old Christine is pretty funny.
However, THE SOUP is the funniest show on TV.

Big Bang Theory is greatness although it does have an occasional clunker episode. I think they let the b team right an episode about every 5 weeks. It also gets funnier the longer you watch it and get to know the personalities of the characters. Kinda like Seinfeld in that way.

  22. Jessie Simon October 1, 2008 at 1:05 pm #

    “write” an episode. lol!

  23. Sully October 1, 2008 at 1:23 pm #

The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother

  24. Paul Brown October 1, 2008 at 4:29 pm #

Chuck is entertaining. It’s over the top ridiculous and unrealistic, but still funny in a geeky kind of way.

  25. Tyler October 1, 2008 at 5:37 pm #

    CPAN!!!! That is too funny.

  26. Brad Raby October 1, 2008 at 10:46 pm #

Hannah Montana!! Ok…kidding but, hey I work with Middle School students every week.

  27. Brian Crisman October 2, 2008 at 10:40 am #

    chuck

  28. Dave Ripper October 2, 2008 at 2:35 pm #

Get the DVD’s for Arrested Development. That show is definitely more hilarious than any of the programs on this list.

  29. Mark Briggs October 2, 2008 at 5:43 pm #

30 Rock is by far the best writing and quickest wit. Alec Baldwin was made for this show.

  30. Vanessa October 2, 2008 at 6:09 pm #

How I Met Your Mother, absolutely. Really funny.

  31. Ron Edmondson October 2, 2008 at 11:11 pm #

I like “How I met Your Mother”
I also like “Big Bang Theory”
A new one I have only seen once, but I thought was hilarious is Worst Week. I personally just like mindless comedy at times to take my “mind” off the things that aren’t mindless.
Of course, stick with The Office.

  32. joyz October 3, 2008 at 8:08 am #

If you are really going for laughs, then 30 Rock, HIMYM, and My Name Is Earl, in that order. Well, the first two might be tied. 30 Rock would be slightly more offbeat Office style laughs while HIMYM is more awesome plays on pop culture laughs.

Of course, all the ones I’ve watched off the list – awesome shows.=) You’re getting good recs.

  33. Jon October 3, 2008 at 11:08 am #

I love Chuck. 30 Rock can be great too…

  34. Joshua Gregory October 3, 2008 at 5:08 pm #

Heroes has been a joke this season.

  35. ryan_b October 17, 2008 at 6:30 pm #

How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory are the best!
