I need a good laugh, so yesterday I asked my Twitter friends if they could recommend their favorite television comedies. Emily and I currently watch The Office, but we’re interested in finding another program. Here are the recommendations from the world of Twitter:

For a comedy, it’s Scrubs hands-down. I was pleasantly surprised by Grey’s Anatomy, but wouldn’t label it a comedy.

Watching your kids interact together will probably provide more entertainment than any of those shows. We occasionally watch Chuck and it is stupid funny. Other than that I haven’t found many funny shows lately…loving the Fringe though!

Chuch for sure. I’m not sure I would consider Grey’s Anatomy as a comedy…

Forgot to mention this one as it’s not a sitcom, but The Daily Show with John Stewart (when I catch it) is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

We don’t have teevee, but we watch Wipeout on ABC’s website. I’m usually - literally - exhausted from laughing at the end of one episode.

I would recommend Chuck and Psych, but Big Bang Theory is pretty funny too.

Get the DVD’s for Arrested Development and the British version of The Office. Brilliant writing.

I haven’t seen any of the listed tv shows. I’m still on Raymond and Seinfeld. I do watch Amazing Race with my wife and that can be funny.

I would vote for Chuck with all the geek, comic and fanboy references, and Psyche, for it’s whitty take on dective work meeting slacker lifestyle.

Chuck and 30 Rock for sure. The first few seasons of Scrubs was really funny. And you most definitely cannot beat The Office.

30 Rock is either hilarious or not.
Chuck is good.
I find LIFE is a good mix of comedy & drama - more drama than comedy.
The New Adventures of Old Christine is pretty funny.
However, THE SOUP is the funniest show on TV.

Big Bang Theory is greatness although it does have an occasional clunker episode. I think they let the b team right an episode about every 5 weeks. It also gets funnier the longer you watch it and get to know the personalities of the characters. Kinda like Seinfeld in that way.

Chuck is entertaining. It’s over the top ridiculous and unrealistic, but still funny in a geeky kind of way.

30 Rock is by far the best writing and quickest wit. Alec Baldwin was made for this show.

How I Met Your Mother, absolutely. Really funny.

I like “How I met Your Mother”
I also like “Big Bang Theory”
A new one I have only seen once, but I thought was hilarious is Worst Week. I personally just like mindless comedy at times to take my “mind” off the things that aren’t mindless.
Of course, stick with The Office.

If you are really going for laughs, then 30 Rock, HIMYM, and My Name Is Earl, in that order. Well, the first two might be tied. 30 Rock would be slightly more offbeat Office style laughs while HIMYM is more awesome plays on pop culture laughs.
Of course, all the ones I’ve watched off the list - awesome shows.=) You’re getting good recs.
