You can’t orchestrate moments like this. Fortunately, though, it has been captured for posterity. Take a look at the picture below. A few things to note:

  • Anne Jackson captured the picture on her cell phone. That’s her sweet tea in the foreground.
  • The handsome man with the yellow tie and the green eye glasses is Seth Godin. Notice that he’s gesturing with his hand as he makes a brilliant point on marketing as only Seth could make.
  • That’s me behind the sweet tea trying to eat and listen at the same time. Yes, the most-respected man in marketing was speaking and I was trying to eat my lunch. I can assure you that says far more about me than it does about Seth.
  • In the background, you’ll notice a man that looks a little like Seth Godin without the yellow tie and the green eye glasses. That’s none other than Tim Stevens walking into the session a few minutes late. :-)
  • Finally, there’s the set of hands to my left. I’ll send a free copy of Seth Godin’s new book, Tribes, to the first person who correctly identifies that set of hands.

You wouldn’t have believed me if I didn’t have the picture to prove it. Thanks, Anne, for capturing this great moment in church history.
