ooVoo = Free Video Chat Tool
If you’re trying to implement a successful multi-site strategy, you already know that communications with your various campuses are critical. Here’s one easy and free tool we’ve started using at NewSpring to make that happen. The solution is called ooVoo. It’s a web solution for video chat that allows you to connect face-to-face with up to six people.
This morning while Jason, Jennifer, Nick and I were here in my office in Anderson, we were connecting with Michael in Florence and Howard in Greenville using ooVoo. That’s Michael on the left. Howard’s grinning in the center. And, I’m ably manning the Blackjack cell phone on the right trying to capture the moment in a photo.
What other tools have you found useful to connect with teammates in remote locations? I’d love to hear your recommendations.

We currently use Adobe Connect…it works pretty well for meeting software, but not the greatest video quality. ooVoo wasn’t available on Mac (~50% user base here) last time I checked it out, so I’ll give it another look!
Our leadership teams often use Skype to connect with one another. With Skype you get free Skype to Skype calls, the possibility of video conferencing, and Instant Messaging. It’s a sweet deal! I’m not quite sure about the number of individuals that can conference call or video conference at once. But I enjoy using it with my family, friends, and church.
Tin cans. And really really really long rope.
Tony, thanks for posting about this. I will be trying it out soon.
sweet!
