Free Live Webcast Tomorrow

By popular demand, I will be interviewing Lee McDerment and Shane Duffey tomorrow afternoon (Monday, February 2) on a live webcast. Lee is the worship leader at our Anderson Campus and was one of the first folks Perry hired back in the early days. Shane is our Pastor of Creative Arts (I think that’s his title) and oversees the arts portions of our services at all our campuses.

You’ll have the opportunity to participate and ask questions during the webcast. It’ll be live. And, as always, it’ll be FREE.

Here are the details:

Feel free to start asking questions by leaving comments on this post. I’ll use your questions to launch the conversation.

Hope to see you in the chat room tomorrow. Tell all your friends. We’re expecting a crowd.

question: what would you recommend to a church considering making a split between a creative arts pastor and a worship pastor. where to start? what are the potential pitfalls?

Question: What would be your advice to a worship leader for building a band/worship ministry from the ground up? We are a 3 week old church.

Will the webcast be recorded and published post-show? Our church staff meetings are on Mondays at 2pm, which means I won’t be able to make it. If so, could you post the link or embed it to your blog?

How much coordination is there between worship leaders at each site? Do you do the same set, or is each location on their own? Do musicians and vocalists rotate among sites?

How are worship leaders integrated into the life of the church – other than performing a job on Sunday mornings? What is the level of relationship between worship leaders and senior staff?

@Lee: This question was posed to me the other day by a friend, what are you thoughts. Is it Biblical to play “secular” music during the worship service?

Lee- I have 2 bands that I am over that play on a two week rotation each. I am wondering what you use to plan and communicate with you band members? And, how far in advance do you plan your set lists?

Question for Both: What does the daily or weekly communication between you both sound-like/look-like/smell-like? And Why? =)
