Tour the NewSpring Web Campus

NewSpring Web CampusToday was the official launch of the NewSpring Web Campus. If you weren’t able to join us, the site is open 24/7 now for your viewing pleasure. Go ahead. Take a peek. In case you’re curious, here are a few basics:

  • Each week we record the Sunday 9:15 am service from Anderson with cutaways to Nick, our web campus pastor, who hosts the services.
  • We upload the video to Light Cast Media so that it’s available to stream throughout the world. Today that included places like Brazil, Italy, Germany and Kentucky.
  • Our regular web campus service times are on Sundays at 11:15 am and 6:00 pm EST…at least for now.
  • There are a team of about 12 volunteers and 3 staff members on hand to support each service and to participate in the conversation and online prayer. You can check out the various volunteer team roles by clicking the “get involved” graphic on the web campus.
  • While the services are happening, there is a chat room that launches for participants to engage conversation and to ask questions. If the chat room distracts you, you can shut it off. You can also take the video full screen. I connected to my television recently so my whole family could experience the service together.
  • People who connect on the web campus may take next steps into group and serving opportunities. We’ll also have a membership experience available in the coming weeks to learn more about NewSpring and the opportunities available to engage with other people through the web campus.
  • Just like our physical locations, we’re expecting most people will experience a web campus service because a friend invites them. That’s why we’ve made it so easy to invite others to check out the web campus using email, Facebook and Twitter.
  • We have several enhancements to make. You are only seeing the foundation. We have more tricks up our sleeve that we hope to reveal in the coming weeks. (Know any cool developers?)

I know you may have additional questions, so I’ve arranged a live webcast with Nick and Joshua (the brains behind it all). We’ll go behind the scenes and dive into the details on Monday, February 9 at 2:00 pm EST. Watch my blog for more details.

In the mean time, I hope you’ll visit the web campus and invite your friends. I’ll see you there next Sunday.
