A question popped up on Twitter earlier today about an audio version of Killing Cockroaches. Made me curious to know how you consume books. With that in mind, here’s a quick poll. I’d love your feedback on your reading/listening habits.
Thanks for participating. Come on back to check out the results.

I’d love a Kindle, but I’m holding out to see if the rumored Mac Tablet will feature a Kindle app. So for now here’s what I do:
Leadership/Development books I buy a read the hard copy. (I read 2-3 books a month)
Novels I’ll usually default to an audiobook format because I can be mostly engaged and enjoy it as a radio drama. (I maybe do these 2-3 times a year.)
Devotionals & SHORT Books, I’ll read on the Kindle App on my iPhone.
I’m also a big geek, so I read graphic novels and comics in hand and online as well.
p.s. I’d love an audio version of Killing Cockroaches because it could be consumed in short bursts.
I do both. I’m an audiovisual learner, so I generally read and chew on the text, but listen to the audio as well to help me really internalize it. Usually do that on the plane/in the car/while working out. Love that redundancy.
I will say, I hate when a noted author has a sterile-sounding voiced person do the reading. Eric Bryant did a great job of reading his book, Peppermint-Filled Pinatas (I’ve tried to convince him to go into narration for audiobooks as a career but he has not heard God yet!)… so if you do, I highly recommend if you are able, to read it yourself. Not everyone can do that well (Emmerson Eggerichs in Love and Respect sounded a bit dry while being a good communicator live) but if you can do it and breathe life into the text, go for it!
I read mainly non-fiction books & lately I have been listening to a lot of biographies & memoirs are great for audio reads. I also have a Kindle & that is a great device for my ecclectic reading style (since it remembers where I left off).
If I really like a book I will buy the hard copy if I have the audio version. Audio is great, especially for those of us who have a decent commute. I have your book on Kindle & am looking forward to a great read.
i read a lot of 2nd hand books, and free ones. i trade books with a paperback store. and i use the library. as far as christian books are concerned, i wish there was a library.
