Got an encouraging note this past week from Jason. He recently read Killing Cockroaches. This is the result I’ve been praying for. Jason shared:
I just wanted to personally let you know how much your book, Killing Cockroaches, made an impact on me. Your words have helped me in the following ways:
1. I laughed – out loud – while reading a book on Spiritual Leadership2. I Love my God, my wife, and my children more because of your family stories3. My vision is clearer4. My sermons are much more direct and relevant to our current culture5. My leadership style has changed completely6. My faith has increased7. Criticism hurts people8. Our ministry must be to equip the saints, not kill cockroaches9. Stories are powerful10. It’s not about how great we are, but can we help people
Thanks Jason! You made my day.

That’s awesome that he was able to get so much out of it and change up his leadership style because of it! Congrats Jason!!! I too loved the book. :)

I started reading your Blog roughly 2 years ago. I just wanted you to know i appreciate your wit and humor, and i find your information very useable. I’ve been active in a start up Church for about 5 years and before that we had no Chruch involvemnt. My back ground is a Buisness Owner (have started up 2 successfully)somtimes i feel extra challenged with lack of strong Leadership from above. Any ideas to keep my fire going when it seems to have weakend from the top??
Thanks again for letting God into your heart and being such a inspiration for others..

I’m a Junior at Clemson and go to Newspring and have been reading your blog for I think like a year (I’m not really sure). As I’ve read though I’ve noticed that I have a similar heart to the one you seem have for the Church (to see the existing churches grow in how they lead and exercise their full potential in the body of Christ). So I wanted to ask you a few questions, more 3 inside of one:
How do you fight pride in…
1.what you personally have experienced was successful in helping other churches?
2. the fact that YOU are helping that church hopefully grow in its gifts to their full potential in the body of Christ?
3. what you’ve you seen other churches doing that have proven to be successful?
Thank you for the wisdom you’ve already shared with me through your blog. I hope you’re having a great day!
