Hey Tony...we are a week behind and as far as social media is concerned I've never seen it affect anything in our area. I'm pretty in tune with most of what's going on.

I think if you are reaching people in your new location that are far from God and do not go to church then really there is no problem. We have continued to see our campus grow and lives be changed. Our growth has come from new people and not transfer growth.

Podcast is another media tool that makes this hard. Our second campus used to be on a week delay yet the podcast for the live campus came out the day after the message. We now have a Thursday night service since Saturday nights wouldn't work here so we can send that dvd to them by Sunday.

In this 5-minute-ago culture, it's problematic to be a week behind. Not only because of the instant commentary from social media, but because of the conversations that happen throughout the week. There are so many options for keeping the campuses in sync.

It has been this way for years for sporting events. Are there a lot of churches running multiple sites that are still working a system leaving some of their people a week behind in messages? I'd have to think even before this those places were in becoming fewer and fewer each year.
