Momentum at the Oak Leaf Campus
Easter weekend was amazing at all three campuses of West Ridge Church. I mentioned that in my post last week. No doubt about it — it’s fun to worship together with a big crowd on holidays. I also love seeing all the new faces.
From my perspective, though, the true measure of the impact of a holiday service is how many folks come back the following Sunday. One way to track the impact is to calculate the percentage increase of the crowd that shows up the week after a holiday and compare it to the previous normal week before a holiday. In the case of the Oak Leaf campus, we jumped 18%. That’s significant. It’s no wonder we had to pull out the extra chairs again this past Sunday.
I sense God is up to something big in Cartersville. We definitely are in the middle of a wave of momentum. Every Sunday I’m meeting new people before and after the services. I’m glad to be a part of a movement that’s leading people from where they are to where God wants them to be!
By the way, this Sunday is Mother’s Day. I’m looking forward to honoring all the Oak Leaf moms…especially this one. See you on Sunday!

It’s good to hear that you’re seeing that kind of response! Kudos. Glad to hear how God is moving.
I wonder if there is a way to investigate things further. Here is a question I’ve been wrestling with: “How can we measure the overall response of people’s openness to God outside of counting noses on Sunday? Is there a way to get feedback from the ‘regulars’ who can report the openness of those that attended Easter.”
For example, I know of people who attended Easter Sunday, but aren’t interested in making “church” a part of their weekly experience. Their just not there yet. But they are taking steps towards God and our conversations about God are more personal and intimate.
Sometimes I wonder if we focus so much on the Sunday morning number (which is valid and needs to be celebrated) that we neglect additional opportunities that don’t have as clear a metric and/or we haven’t figured out a way to get the metric.
Thoughts?
