Win a FREE Resource: Building a Leadership Development Culture

Building a Leadership Development CultureIt’s no secret — organizations must have leaders in order to accomplish their mission. However, as I work with churches across the country, the development of leaders seems to be a huge challenge every one is facing these days. That’s why I’m excited about this new eBook from Mac Lake. Until now, it’s been difficult to recommend specific resources for churches to help with leadership development. In Building a Leadership Development Culture, Mac addresses the core issues of this challenge and gives practical steps to help you and your organization begin building many reproducing leaders.

Many leaders are paralyzed by the seemingly impossible challenge of building new leaders.  In this book, you will find practical ideas that can be implemented right away to help you start building a culture of leadership development in your team, department or organization.  If you implement the strategy provided in this resource, the leadership landscape of your organization can look drastically different 12 months from now.

Here’s the truth: Leaders develop leaders. It’s not enough to depend on conferences for leadership development. It’s time to challenge leaders to get their hands dirty once again in raising up new leaders. When an organization learns how to reproduce leaders, it will impact their growth and health for generations. Don’t settle for a one-generation run of ministry. God has a bigger vision for you and your church. Real leaders leave a legacy of new leaders.

Building a Leadership Development Culture is available through Leadia. Leadia is a new venture from the Leadership Network that provides resources to leaders through an integrated media experience. If you have an iPad or iPhone, you can download the app then purchase Mac’s resource on leadership development.

I also have a couple of FREE copies to give away to TonyMorganLive.com readers. To win one of those copies, just leave a comment on this article. Again, you need to have an iPad or iPhone in order to access the resource. I’ll select the winners tomorrow evening.

UPDATE: The winners have been selected and notified by email. Thanks for participating!

I am focused on ministry in the workplace and have been using servant based leadership development in the corporate/for profit setting. I’d love to see how this compliments the materials I’m currently using. I would be willing to provide a review and comparison back to the group.

I think this title really hits home the key word, “Culture”. It’s got to be second nature to develop leaders. I would be really interested to see what this book has to say about that aspect.

Thanks for always putting up so many opportunities for great “free” resources.

I am a part of a new church plant team in Austin Texas. This book would be a great resource for us. I now serve under our Lead Pastor Ray Ortiz at Revive Church. I can see this concept being played out. He poured into many of us at our previous church and began training up leaders there, many of which are moving into leadership positions there and some are moving into leadership positions here. As someone who is seeing this first hand and believes in it, I would love to read the book and pass it along so we can train up new leaders.

Writing my Doctoral thesis on leadership development and volunteers. I would love to have a copy for my research!

I have a church oozing with leadership potential with no real system for development in our student::life areas…this resource would help us to begin building a framework for student leadership. Can anyone smell “breakthrough”? I can.

  29. Frank Bennett October 11, 2011 at 3:09 pm #

Downloaded Leadia on my iPad. I think you should give away a free eBook to the person who is farthest away. I’m currently in Kiev, Ukraine :)

    Love this – Need this.

App Downloaded, hope to see a free copy tomorrow.
    Thanks!

Does this ebook have insight into building up youth leaders in the church, as well? As an active member of a youth group we need resources to help teach youth about becoming influential leader too.

  34. Bart Hare October 11, 2011 at 3:57 pm #

Sounds like a great resource would love a copy! We refuse to be a church that only influences one gen. We believe that success is what u do for urself but significance is what u do for/in others!

    Thanks Tony!

  35. Emmanuel October 11, 2011 at 4:24 pm #

We need more leaders who will develop leaders. Influence for positive change.
Can’t wait to read what the resource has to say.

    Thanks!

  36. Brian October 11, 2011 at 5:59 pm #

How true. If you truly want to be a successful leader it’s not just about leading now but also leading after you are long gone through those who were developed while you were there.

  37. Jeff October 12, 2011 at 2:31 am #

    Sounds great!

  38. josh reynolds October 12, 2011 at 5:39 am #

Hey Tony, I’d love to get one of those ebooks! Our church has hearts and talented leaders but shaping a culture is our next level… thanks for the consideration.

Last night we had over 1500 men come out to the launch of our newly branded men’s small group ministry. It was an incredible night. Over the past year, God has been bringing so many new people to Grace. He has opened up a tremendous opportunity for us to bring a strong revival to Tampa, but the one thing we lack are leaders. I am looking forward to reading and sharing this book with the rest of our leadership team.

  42. Dan Williams October 12, 2011 at 9:04 am #

BuildIng this leadership development culture well seems to be the aspect of church health that separates the vibrant from the stagnant.

  43. Chad Morreau October 12, 2011 at 9:30 am #

Sounds like an interesting resource our church could benefit from.

  44. Ricky Ortiz October 12, 2011 at 11:52 am #

This is something we’ve been working on over the last 9-10 months in our church and I can say that it’s definitely made a huge difference! We’re no where near where we’d like to be, but we’re definitely on the right track. I’m actually overseeing our Leadership Development System and working with our staff to help them in each of their ministries and this would be a great resource to have. Thanks!

  45. Kevin Hartman October 12, 2011 at 12:04 pm #

Thanks, Tony. Looking forward to a great read!

  46. Jim Evans October 12, 2011 at 12:31 pm #

You are addressing one of the greatest challenges facing the missional movement. Vision, passion and dynamic environments without leadership development (discipleship) will result in a meteoric burnout. Just read a article, “Why the Missional Movement is Doomed to Fail” It addresses the same challenge. Pick me . . . Pick me! :-)

  47. Doug Cowburn October 12, 2011 at 3:04 pm #

Leadership is a big deal for the future of church and ministry! I believe relationships are the currency of any leadership system.

Oh, I’d love a free copy of this resource!

  48. Tara Miller October 12, 2011 at 3:14 pm #

Sounds like a resource our understaffed church could really use. Thanks!

I am looking forward to this book. Mac sat down with me a couple of years ago when we were planning the launch of Watermark Church in Freiburg, Germany (http://watermarkfreiburg.de). His insight into the leadership development process was extremely helpful.
