Are You in Student Ministry? Check Out this Job Opening!

Granger Community ChurchMy good friends at Granger Community Church are hiring a Student Ministry Director. This is not your normal church and not your normal student ministry position.

As you may know, I got my start in ministry at Granger about 15 years ago. I served on the team for more than eight years. Not only did I probably learn more about leadership than any other time of my life during those eight years, I also made many lifelong friends.

Knowing Granger’s culture, I can tell you these job openings where they are pursuing candidates outside the church rarely come along. With that in mind, you should consider jumping on this unique opportunity. Here’s a brief overview of the role:

Granger Community Church is seeking a dynamic student ministry director to provide innovative leadership and future direction to middle and high school students. Three buzz words that you will hear repeated at Granger are respect, family and story. The Granger staff culture is uniquely defined by its family-like feel with many staff being home grown and on staff for many years. Those who have joined the staff team more recently express feeling at home quite quickly and note how much they enjoy their fellow staff teammates.

Granger also respects the families and personal lives of the staff members keeping work-life balance a key priority. Many youth pastors measure their success on what they can do. The person in this role will measure success by what they equip others to do. He or she will be a visible catalytic leader for Student Ministries. The leader in this position will provide energizing teaching and leadership for the students and leaders and maintain a strong connection to the parents of the students.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of developing systems and processes for effective communication and growth of all aspects of the ministry. They will lead and reproduce disciples authentically with passion and will also have a strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset.

If you are an experienced student ministry leader, I strongly recommend you consider this opportunity. You may submit your confidential application online. For more information, contact my friends at Vanderbloemen Search Group.

Job Opening at West Ridge Cartersville Location

These rarely are available, so I wanted to give you a heads up. We have an opening on our West Ridge team at the Cartersville location. One of our guys just accepted a new job at a new church back in his hometown. That means we have a leadership role available on our team. Here are the specifics:

  • Role: Student Pastor
  • Status: part-time, about 20 hours per week
  • Supervisor: Cartersville campus pastor/executive pastor with influence from West Ridge student ministry leaders

You’ll be joining six other staff members in Cartersville. You’ll primarily lead our student ministry, but we do everything together as a team in Cartersville. You’ll have immediate voice and influence in every area of ministry.

You’ll also jump right into a ministry with solid volunteer leadership in place. We have the people and resources ready to reach hundreds of students in our region. We are looking for our next leader to see it happen. Seriously, if you’re looking for a shot at being empowered to build a healthy ministry that helps students become fully-devoted followers of Christ, this is your opportunity.

Here’s what else you could potentially gain by investing the next several years of your life in this role:

  • The opportunity to link up with people and resources in multiple locations. We are currently one church in three locations with plans to expand throughout our region northwest of Atlanta.
  • The chance to be a part of a reproducing church. We partner with The Launch Network to inspire and equip next-generation leaders. That’s part of our DNA, and it’s reflected within the church’s culture.
  • The expectation that you’ll invest in people that will impact the world. Whether it’s partnering with over 100 local churches and thousands of volunteers to help our neighbors through “Community Makeover” or drilling wells and planting churches in Burkina Faso, this church doesn’t settle — we want to link up with Kingdom-minded people to make an impact beyond the walls of our buildings.

Are you a young leader ready to take your next step in ministry? Send me your resume. I’ll forward you the job profile. But, act quickly. We already have candidates in the process.
