I’m Hosting Several New Coaching Networks Starting in October
Here’s an important thing I know about equipping church leaders: We all need teaching, modeling and coaching to develop into the leaders God called us to be.
Churches routinely rely far too heavily on teaching—both in making disciples and in developing leaders.
Where does that leave us?
Knowledge without application gets us stuck. It stunts our development. It can create fear of failure. And worse—sometimes it gives us arrogance for what we know but have never actually put into practice. Knowledge without application gets us stuck. It stunts our development. Coaching is the area I find most church leaders have not engaged.
That’s one reason I started offering coaching networks years ago. It allowed me to scale my time to coach hungry leaders who recognized this component was missing in their development.
To be honest, all these years later, we sometimes wonder if the season for these types of groups is ending, or if they were a trend that would only last a decade or two. Afterall, there are tons of coaching options for leaders now, far more than there were when I first started doing these 12 years ago.
So far, each year, we’ve always decided to go forward. The simple reason for that is this:
I continue to get emails and phone calls from participants, six months or a year after a network ends, telling me that their churches have experienced greater growth and health as they implemented the things they learned. Churches routinely rely far too heavily on teaching—both in making disciples and in developing leaders. Click To Tweet
They also consistently tell us in the post-network survey that the relationships they built with other church leaders was one of the most valuable and pleasantly surprising parts of the experience.
If coaching is what’s missing in your leadership development, let me invite you to take a next step.
I design our coaching networks to help you grow in effectiveness as a leader.
I will also say they are unique in scope because of my team’s experience in 100s of churches each year. We equip you with the tools, systems and best practices we see working in churches across the country.
We’re offering 3 coaching network options for Fall 2018—
In each, we invite you to register a group of two from your team (you plus one other senior leader). We’ve found churches are more successful at leading change when the senior leader has an ally. You’ll value having someone to collaborate with as you apply what you’re learning.
I’m really excited about these fall groups. I can’t wait to meet the leaders who will participate.
We’re reviewing applications now, so if you want in, apply asap.
(The official deadline is August 23, but there’s an early bird discount for churches who apply by August 3.)
