Leaders are not developed at a conference. You can’t develop leaders by giving them a book to read. Leadership development requires one person investing in another person. It’s as much about sharing life as it is about sharing knowledge. Many people are teaching and writing books about leadership. Very few people are focused on leadership development.
You’ve probably heard me say, “Real leaders empower other leaders.” The challenge, of course, is that it’s easier said than done.
